Background

PD-1 is mainly expressed in activated T or B cells and inhibit cell activation, which is a normal autostable mechanism of immune system. Excessive T / B cell activation can cause autoimmune diseases, so PD-1 is necessary in our body. But tumor microenvironment will induce high expression of PD-1 in infiltrating T cells. Tumor cells also express PD-L1 and PD-L2 and inhibit T cell which fail to kill tumor cells. PD-1 antibody can block this pathway, restore the function of T cells and make T cells continue to kill tumor cells. Therefore, anti-human PD-1 monoclonal antibody are applied to exert a "closed" effect on the expanded T cells in vitro, improving the tumor killing effect of immune cells.
